General Charles C. "Hondo" Campbell is a native of Shreveport. He too graduated from LSU in 1970. He received a Master of Military Art and Science degree from the United States Army Command and General Staff College, and attended a wide variety of military schools culminating with his graduation from the Army War College. General Campbell served as Commanding General for the Eight Army, Republic of Korea, and is currently Commander, United States Army Forces Command, Fort McPherson, GA.
General Campbell's awards and decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit (with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters), Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal (with Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Achievement Medal, Special Forces Tab, and Parachutist Badge.
General Campbell and Major General Bowdon exemplify the best of SAE and LSU. The brothers of Louisiana Epsilon are proud to count them among the alumni of our chapter.
